Tesla under investigation in California: full automatic driving publicity suspected of misleading consumers
According to the Los Angeles Times, the California motor vehicle administration (DMV) is investigating whether Tesla's promotion of "fully automatic driving" technology illegally misleads consumers.
DMV is reviewing the matter. A DMV spokesman said, "the California law prohibits enterprises from publicizing their cars for sale or rental to automatic driving unless the vehicle satisfies the statutory and regulatory definition of the automatic driving vehicle, and the enterprise has to have a deployment permit."
Tesla has yet to comment. At present, Tesla owners can spend $10000 to buy a fully automatic driving (FSD) kit, which can automatically change lanes, adjust speed and other functions.
